DISASTER RECOVERY ANALYST

FLSA Status: Exempt 

General Functions
   Develops risk management procedures, business continuance scenarios, contingency and disaster recovery plans for all computer and network systems in order to maintain operations during downtime and major disasters.

Work is performed with independence and initiative under the general supervision of the Enterprise IT Supervisor. Performance is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and achievement of desired results.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Develops, implements and maintains the County ISS Business Plan for the local and alternate recovery site.
  • Develops disaster recovery exercises to test emergency preparedness.
  • Identifies points of vulnerability and recommends disaster avoidance and reduction strategies.
  • Conducts business impact analyses, Continuity of Operations Plans (COOPS) and assists departments in determining critical business processes, identifies acceptable recovery time periods and establishes resources required for the successful resumption of business operations in the event of a disaster.
  • Establishes disaster recovery testing methodologies and coordinates the testing of recovery support and business resumption procedures.
  • Leads recovery support and business staff during a disaster in the implementation of response and alternate operating strategies.
  • Addresses disaster recovery issues for facilities, equipment and services.
  • Participates as a member of the Emergency Support Function 2 Communications team.
  • Supervises groups of technical personnel in support of disaster recovery or other critical organizational functions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Associate's Degree from an accredited institution in Data Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science or closely related field and three years experience in risk evaluation and control, business impact analysis, business continuity strategy development and/or developing technology and business process recovery strategies or an equivalent combination of related education, training and experience.
