(BUSINESS UNIT) NETWORK SERVICES SUPERVISOR

General Functions
   Supervises and schedules telecommunications staff. Responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of a department's wiring systems, PBX system, radio communications and infrastructure standards.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Plans, directs and supervises the work of assigned personnel in the department's telecommunications section.
  • Establishes and maintains a program for training, cross training and development of staff.
  • Ensures sufficient voice and data equipment inventory.
  • Directs and supervises the installation, maintenance, trouble shooting and repair of data communication hardware and software components.
  • Directs the planning, installation, removal and maintenance of data communication network configurations.
  • Monitors system performance quarterly reports and recommends improvements.
  • Oversees the development and maintenance of current drawings and specifications related to all data communications components, terminals, printers and circuits.
  • Oversees testing and all changes in a manner that will be error-free, well communicated and not impact the production environment adversely.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Math, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field and four years of network software programming experience, data network design, installation, or maintenance experience, to include one year of supervisory experience. Additional years of the specified experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
