PRINT SPECIALIST

General Functions
  

This position is responsible for printing, copying, scanning, and bindery services and providing assistance to county management and/or professional staff.

Work is performed with independence under the general supervision of a designated supervisor. Performance is reviewed through observations, reports and results achieved.

 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  

Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.

  • Performs all print production-related tasks that includes, printing, scanning, and binding files sent by clients. Operates printers, copiers, UV printers, and bindery equipment. May be required to operate offset presses and digital plate makers.
  • Provides great customer service via phone, email, or in person. Answers questions relating to printing or bindery, notifies clients of any issues with their files or job request, and offers solutions to client needs.
  • Performs quality control per  shop standards, by checking all work produced for accuracy, quantities, and quality before delivering to the client. Performs all services as requested by the client on the work order.
  • Performs maintenance and cleaning on equipment and schedules service when necessary with the vendor.
  • Informs the Production Supervisor or Manager regarding any printing and bindery needs and supplies. May be responsible for ordering supplies with vendors and checking items received match the delivery ticket.
  • Coordinates jobs for delivery with the Production Supervisor, Manager, or directly with a courier service. Packages completed orders neatly for delivery or client pick up.
  • Communicates any equipment issues with the Production Supervisor or Manager that may delay the completion of a job by its requested due date.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  

High School graduate and four (4) years of print production or offset printing experience to include two (2) years of customer service experience in the printing or closely related industry; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Proficient with MS Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience in high-speed digital copiers, large format plotters, and binding equipment.

 
Preferences
  

­­Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.

Proficient in Adobe Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, and Illustrator.
