ANIMAL SERVICES SPECIALIST SUPERVISOR

General Functions
   Supervises the Customer Service Section of the Animal Services Division. Work is performed under the general supervisor of the assistant department manager.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Performs customer support and problem resolution in customer service, animal sheltering, spay/neuter services and general operations of the shelter.
  • Verifies deposits involving cash and receipts.
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities to include scheduling, disciplining, training, counseling, conflict resolution and evaluating all assigned staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   An associate degree in business administration or a related field and three years experience in a fast paced, problem solving customer service environment to include at least one year in a supervisory role. Additional years of experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Must have the ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form with all levels of staff and citizens on technical and non-technical issues involving the animal control industry. Must have state certification as an Animal Control Officer or must obtain within six months of hire.

Position requires night, weekend, holiday, and shift work.
