DEVELOPMENT SERVICES SPECIALIST

General Functions
   This is specialized work providing administrative and technical support in the operation of County land development activities. This position is responsible for performing project and process work related to countywide land development activities. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of the assigned supervisor.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Assists with the management of assigned project and process operations.
  • Processes land development related documents, including plans, applications and records.
  • Performs quality control inspections or audits on land development records.
  • Assists in the training, improvement, and customer support of end user activities regarding document management software and land development process tracking software.
  • Analyzes business processes and procedures to ensure that business system applications support end user needs.
  • Assists with management of electronic records, archive records retention scheduling and destruction notices.
  • Researches activity related to system records and digital documents for internal and external customers.
  • Conducts special project assignments and provides administrative support to the assigned division.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Associate's Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, Civil Engineering, Public or Business Administration, or a related field and two years of experience in records and process management or a related field; or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training or experience.

Proven ability to coordinate with other Departments/agencies to meet management priorities related to land development information and customer service.

Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with the general public while discussing, explaining and interpreting departmental policies.
