CONSENT AGENDA COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR 1 ^Mllfc^i^ an^J October 1 2004 TO FROM SUBJECT Richard T Crotty, County Chairman Board of County Commissioners Randy Singh, Manager, 0MB ^h Consent Agenda Item for October 19, 2004 Law Enforcement Trust Fund Expenditure Sheriff's Office Request The Orange County Sheriff's Office is requesting to spend $16,800 from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund for the following purposes Contributions 1 Majicity Foundation, Inc. - $200 The Majicity Foundation, Inc , in conjunction with Senator Gary Siplin, will be hosting the second annual School Crossing Guard and first Bus Drivers Luncheon on Saturday, August 14, 2004 The purpose of this event is to honor and recognize both of these large, dedicated groups who are trusted with our children each and every school day School Crossing Guards from the Orange County Sheriff's Office will be attending this event 2 U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps - $500 The "Vigilant Division" is an all-volunteer youth group that stresses good citizenship, enhanced patriotism, and pride in country and self Along with these objectives, the cadets gain an improved self- esteem and greater confidence in themselves The funds will assist in providing drug awareness education within the Naval Sea Cadet Corps and to focus attention on Campaign Drug Free through which the Drug Reduction Service Ribbon may be awarded 3 Frontline Outreach Program - $1,000 This program is designed to provide child care, teen parental counseling, after-school athletics, GED programs, as well as many other educational and leadership programs for citizens of all ages The funds will be used to provide assistance to support Early Childhood Education, After School Programs, Leadership Initiatives for middle and high school students, and Family Education and Recreational Programs 26
