Richardson, Manager, Purchasing  and Contracts Division Deodat Budhu, Manager, Roads and Drainage Division (407)  836-7871 Award of Invitation for Bids Y8-744-J2 Stormwater Pump Station Generator and Telemetry Upgrades RECOMMENDATION Approval to  award Invitation for Bids  Y8-744-J2,  Stormwater  Pump Station  Generator  and Telemetry Upgrades,  to the low responsive  and responsible bidder, Eau Gallic Electric,  Inc. The total contract  award  amount is  $379,245.83.    Sufficient  funds  are available  in  account 1004-072-3010-6330. The  Roads  and  Drainage  Division  and  the  Business  Development Division concur with this recommendation. PURPOSE The work consists  of all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required to perform  the modification  upgrades to  three  specified  Stormwater pump stations  within Orange  County. Work includes furnishing  and installing generators,  pre-engineered  aluminum canopies,  dial- out alarms, lighting, and miscellaneous site work. DISCUSSION Three bids were received.   The low bidder, Eau Gallic Electric,  Inc,  proposed  0% M/WBE participation and provided insufficient  good faith  effort  documentation.   The next low bidder, Curry Controls Company,  achieved  26% M/WBE  participation  but  their bid  is  16% higher than the low bidder, well beyond the allowable 5.5% scale.  References provided  by the low bidder, Eau Gallic Electric, Inc., were positively verified and the bidder has been determined t o  be responsible.  Therefore, award is recommended  to Eau Gallic Electric, Inc.
