Demings -AND- Board of County Commissioners Tammy Miller, Grants Manager~" Orange County Sheriff's Office (_Y 1 I U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Countywide (JAGC) Award Number 2017-MU-BX-0187 The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), acting as the pass-thru agency for the Justice Assistance Grant Countywide, has awarded Orange County, as governing body, award number 2017-MU BX-0187 in the amount of$164,465, with no required match. The grant period is from October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019. Two of the contracts, 2019-JAGC-ORAN-8-N2-144, $60,500 and 2019- JAGC-ORAN-10-N2-147, $15,500, are included in the listing below. A third project in the amount of $88,465 is still waiting approval from FDLE. The grant funding will support the following approved law enforcement initiatives. Orange County Sheriff's Office/Training Scenario Simulation Software - 2019-JAGC ORAN-8-N2-144, funding will purchase simulation software that will allow the agency to continuously update and add to the current list of simulations. ($60,500) Orange County Sherifrs Office/Intelligence Surveillance Operations -2019-JAGC-ORAN l O-N2- ! 4 7, funding will purchase binoculars, digital cameras and body annor that will give agents the ability to readily identify suspects, vehicles, weapons, etc. ($15,500) ACTION REQUESTED: Approval and execution of I) U.S. Department of Justice/Florida Department of Law Enforcement Certificate of Acceptance Training Scenario Simulation Software Subgrant Award Number 2019-JAGC-0RAN'8-N2-144 in the amount of $60,500 for the period of October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019 and 2) U.S. Department of Justice/Florida Department of Law Enforcement Certificate of Acceptance Intelligence Surveillance Operations Subgrant Award Number 2019-JAGC-ORAN-10-N2-147 in the amount of$15,500 for the period of October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019.
