EXPERIENCE
Planning Administrator, Orange County - August 2006 to present.
Responsible for ensuring policy and program consistency with the department's Strategic Plan;directing
departmental activitiesrelated to joint planning area agreements, special area studies, land use
amendments and annexation issues; coordinating completion of special work requests for County
Commissioners or County Administrator's office; administering grants, RFPs and contracts;coordinating
preparation and monitoring of departmental budget; personnel matters; and managing alldepartmental
aspects in the Planning Manager's absence.
Director of Operations, East Central Florida Regional Planning Council-1998 to July 2006.
Responsible for RPC's economic development and housing programs as well as special projects. In
addition to planning activities, responsibilities included overseeing the RPC's computer/
telecommunications and facility operations, website management and human resources.
Recent activities:
Partnered with Orange County in 2006 to host the Central Florida Workforce HousingSummit.
Summit attendance was approximately 375. Developed an interactiveCD housing toolkit that was
provided to all attendees.
Prepared a briefing book for the Urban Land Institute (ULI) to use in its January 2006 visit to Osceola
County to assist with development in the Lake Toho area.
Partnered with Orange County in 2005 to host a Brownfields seminar. Seminar attendance was
approximately 90. Created a Brownfieldswebpage on the RFC website and an interactiveCD toolkit
that was provided to all attendees.
Worked with the Economic Development Administration (EDA)to have the region designated as an
Economic Development District (EDD).
Assisted the Florida Department of Community Affairs with refining the Fiscal Impact Analysis
Model. Served on an advisory committee to review the model's structure and assumptions, assisted
DCA's consultant with incorporating an affordable housing impact analysis into the model,
evaluated training materials.
Developed a Wekiva Information Clearinghouse website page. Worked with other staff to develop
datasets and maps to post to the page, along with other materials relevant to the Wekiva program.
Provide ongoing statewide technical support to Regional Planning Councils, local governments,
developers and the Florida Department of Community Affairs in applying the ECFRPCDRIHousing
Methodology.
Senior Planner/Section Chief, Housing, East Central Florida Regional Planning Council, 1992 -1998.
Administered RFChousing program, providing housing and demographic data, technicalassistance
and a forum for coordination to the region's local governments. Developed informational housing
publications for housing planners and program administrators.
