Crotty -AMD- Board of County Commissioners FROM: Randy Singh, Manager, Office of Management and Budget SUBJECT: Consent Agenda Item for January 24, 2006 Law Enforcement  Trust Fund  Expenditure Orange County Sheriffs Office  Request The  Orange  County  Sheriffs  Office  is  requesting  to  spend  $10,000  from  the  Law Enforcement Trust Fund for the following purpose: Crimeline Program  - $10,000.   These funds will be used to reimburse the Crimeline Program for  the  reward amount to  be given  for  information  received  in the  Deputy Adam  Pierce  shooting.    The information  received  identified  the  person   responsible, who was later arrested for attempted murder of a law enforcement officer. ACTION  REQUESTED: Approval  for  the  Orange  County  Sheriff's  Office  to spend $10,000 from the Law Enforcement Trust  Fund to    provide    eligible    contribution     for Crimeline Program. NOTE TO THE  CLERK: The Board voted to establish  spending limits  of 20% for  this  fund for  contributions.    At this  point  in the year,   contributions    represent   24%   of   the    total expenditures;   however,   the   restriction   applies   to total  expenditures  for  the  year,  at  year-end.    The Orange  County Sheriff's  Office has stated  that  they monitor  their  expenditures,  and  that  they  will   not exceed the 20% total for  contributions.
