General Functions |
|
Professional position responsible for assisting in the management of the Facility Operations Division, which includes the following functional areas: Environmental Services, Facility Maintenance, HVAC, Capital Planning, Life Safety Systems and Warehouse Operations.
Work is performed with considerable independence under the general guidance of the Division Manager. Work is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and results achieved.

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
- Manages division in absence of the Manager.
- Assists in formulating goals and objectives for long and short term planning
- Assists with developing policies and procedures for division.
- Interprets policies, procedures, rules and regulations and ensures that staff members follow same.
- Directs and oversees activities of staff in an assigned area of responsibility. Performs such supervisory duties as instructing, assigning, reviewing and planning work of others.
- Responsible for human resources related issues to include but not limited to hiring, training and development, performance appraisals, employee relations and compensation.
- Reviews annual revenue projections and expense budgets for the division with the Facility Operations Manager.
- Assists with budget preparation and assures that fiscal awareness is practiced throughout the division.
- Approves major purchases and reviews capital improvement projects.
- Coordinates major event and facility related activities with other divisions to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
- Serves as liaison with other departments, divisions, outside agencies, clients and exhibitors.
- Conducts research and analyzes data such as monthly statistical reports, budget reports, etc. and utilizes such data in planning functions.
- Receives, reviews, processes files and/or submits a variety of documents and reports.
- Analyzes and approves technical specifications and bid documents for solicitation of contracted goods and services.
- Oversees the operation, maintenance and evaluation of building systems infrastructure.
- Supports the Centers mission of outstanding client service by attending site visits, pre-convention meetings and other client meetings.
- Promotes and supports the convention industry locally, nationally and internationally through association membership, educational presentations and interaction with other exhibition facilities.
- Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) standards.
- Performs other related duties and completes special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or an equivalent combination of closely related training and progressive experience plus five (5) years of facility management and building engineering evaluation experience in a large general assembly type facility, Arena, or Performing Arts Center; or closely related experience to include two (2) years of supervisory experience. Additional years of the specified experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis..
