General Functions |
|
Performs highly skilled technical work specializing in two or more of the following areas: Repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, operating, and/or installing audio, lighting, and distributed CATV systems, Perform independent analysis of electronic system performance and related failures. |
|
Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
- Repairs, modifies, installs, and maintains high-end, state of the art electronic audio, video, lighting and distributed CATV systems.
- Operates computer controlled audio and lighting systems, ensuring proper system(s) configuration based on event requirements.
- Troubleshoots and diagnose equipment and system malfunctions.
- Ensures preventative maintenance in operations.
- Interacts directly with event managers and clients to coordinate and schedule work and provide statues reports.
- Maintains inventory control based on event calendar, client work orders, and client meetings.
- Provides high quality customer service.
- Trains lower level technicians.
- Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) standards.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
High school graduate or equivalent. Six years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in circuitry with a wide variety of electronic equipment, audio, lighting and distributed CATV systems knowledge. Must be able to understand and follow written and oral instructions in English. |

Preferences |
|
Preferred Experience:
Must be able to reflect the ability to handle rapid setups and striking of related systems due to changing client needs. Troubleshoot systems for peak performance.
Equipment Skills Preferred: The safe operation of various motorized lifts for the installation of technical related equipment to include audio and lighting consoles, related outboard gear, and the safe interfacing of client technical gear with convention center systems.
Organizational skills relating to amassing show related data and supervising crews. Strong positive people skills when dealing with VIPs, difficult people, show management staff, challenging clients, and their needs while maintaining Orange County Convention Center building policies and standards.
