TRANSPORTATION WORKER |

General Functions |
|
Assist Traffic Masters & Traffic Coordinators with core duties including maintenance of traffic, assisting with move-in/out of shuttle, taxi and rideshare operations. Responsible for controlling and monitoring vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Convention Center roadways, and taxi loading areas. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Transportation Supervisor and/or designated operational lead. |

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
- Assist with taxi loading/staging plans, maintenance of traffic and other core duties.
- Assist with training and briefing on-call and temp labor personnel of the Taxi & Transportation plan.
- Assist with taxi inspections and monitor taxi operations.
- Responsible for placement & storage of taxi & transportation equipment (stand, cones, barricades etc).
- Direct taxis & other vehicles in/out of loading/staging areas & parking lots.
- Distribute radios & other safety equipment for daily operations.
- Communicates verbally with contracted agencies (including hired transportation groups, valet and parking companies, general contractors, temporary staffing agencies, etc) regarding day-to-day operations.
- Execute overall transportation plan developed by the Senior Traffic Coordinators.
- Provide support to transportation staff and shuttle/cart drivers.
- Assist with preventative/normal maintenance of the Transportation Section’s vehicles & carts.
- Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Graduation from high school or equivalent and six (6) months of experience working outdoors while executing and enforcing traffic, parking or pedestrian plans to include - traffic flow, coordination of shuttle bus service, crowd control or taxi/valet operations.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
Complete the Orange County Defensive Driving & Golf Cart Safety course within six months of hire.
Must be able to work irregular hours according to show activity including nights & weekends.
Must be able to perform strenuous work under adverse emergency/weather conditions
Must be able to respond to written and oral instructions and to work independently with minimal supervision.
