ASSISTANT SECURITY SUPERVISOR |

General Functions |
|
Performs supervisory duties in support of the Security Division. Oversees the security operations to include building and parking garage security and safety; as well as traffic, dock operations, and directional signage functions for the Orange County Convention Center. Assists with the day-to-day administrative and operational functions. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Security Supervisor. Performance is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and results achieved.

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
- Recommends and monitors security and safety standards for the Convention Center complex, to include risk avoidance, incident reporting, crowd control, and disaster preparedness.
- Recommends modification or replacement of the existing security systems to operate at maximum efficiency for the Center.
- Reviews and recommends policies and procedures relating to security, traffic, dock and safety functions, ensuring they are maintained, and staff is trained to carry out their responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner.
- Assists in the development of security response programs in anticipation of emergencies.
- Assists in forecasting and scheduling staffing needs in an efficient, effective and responsive manner.
- Coordinates with outside agencies including Orange County Sheriff Office, Florida Highway Patrol, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, corporate protection teams, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Treasury Department, State Department, and the Secret Service in order to ensure the safety of international, national and corporate dignitaries and officials.
- Ensures all security, traffic and safety policies and procedures are enforced.
- Makes recommendations and identifies needs, and develops training programs for personnel.
- Assists in coordinating the scheduling and monitoring for fire sprinkler and fire pump testing, and fire inspections.
- Oversees temporary labor contracts and ensures contract compliance.
- Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Parking Operations
- Assists in coordinating and executing the parking/toll booth operations plans.
- Responsible for parking operations, ensuring tight internal controls with cash/tickets and meeting clients needs.
- Ensures that monies collected are balanced, deposited accurately and timely, and entered in Event Business Management Software (EBMS).
Transportation
- Plans, schedules and implements the Convention Center traffic logistics program, which includes the routing of taxis, buses, personal vehicles, and pedestrians.
- Plans traffic flow based on events and building constraints, which includes calculating the number of attendees and the mode of transportation to the Center.
- Attends transportation related meetings to include pre-convention meetings, client site-visits & operation meetings.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Public Administration, Criminal Justice or closely related field and three years of progressively responsible experience in security, public safety or law enforcement, to include one year of supervisory or team lead experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and / or experience.
Parking Operations
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Accounting/Finance, Hospitality Management or a closely related field and three years of experience in box office, parking or cash handling operations or convention center, hospitality/public service experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and / or experience.
Transportation
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution and three years of traffic logistics and/or public transportation experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and / or experience.
Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License. |

Preferences |
|
Required to possess and maintain the appropriate valid Florida Commercial Driver's License for the type of equipment operated. Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification within six months from date-of-hire |
