General Functions |
|
Professional position responsible for assisting in the strategic development and implementation of transportation management initiatives that impact the Orange County Convention Center. Maintains liaison and coordinates efforts with community agencies to represent the Convention Center and promote relevant transportation related programs in the community. Serves as the assistant supervisor for Dock operations and oversight of external directional signage. Direct supervision is provided from OCCC Transportation Supervisor. |

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
- Serves as special projects coordinator related to transportation initiatives.
- Identifies solutions and coordinates efforts to meet ongoing Convention Center transportation needs and issues.
- Works with members of the industry, local County and State agencies and various departments within Orange County to formulate policies, procedures and programs relating to transportation issues affecting the Convention Center.
- Develops, analyzes and plans for International Drive Light Rail.
- Participates in the development of City/County projects.
- Develops and plans with City, County and State Representatives for effective signs.
- Negotiates with Florida Department of Transportation on the development of new road interchange.
- Creates, implements and maintains systems for tracking and monitoring progress, including conducting surveys and other outcome based performance measures.
- Attends and represents the Convention Center at senior level meetings regarding special projects.
- Participates in Citizens Advisory Board for International Drive Streetscape.
- Assists Transportation Supervisor with oversight of dock operations and approves staff work schedules.
- Monitors incident reports and ensures completeness, accuracy and timeliness, and that they are forwarded to appropriate personnel.
- Assists with management of Convention Center’s Dynamic Messaging System and serves as the internal point of contact (POC).
- Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Transportation, Public Administration or a closely related field and four years experience working with issues related to transportation management programs involving large complexes or facilities. |

|
Strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to establish relationships and work effectively with key representatives of public and private organizations. |
