Performs highly advanced professional engineering work and provides supervision for one or more engineering functions of a specialized nature. This is highly advanced professional, administrative and supervisory engineering work. An employee assigned to this classification is responsible for directing specific projects and programs and performing other comparable field and/or office engineering work. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of the designated supervisor.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in a field of study to be specified by the department and eight years of experience to be specified by the department. A Master's degree may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
Licensed by the Florida State Board of Professional Engineers as a professional engineer. |
