General Functions |
|
Performs intermediate technical work using computerized drafting and drawing systems. Work is performed with some independence under the limited supervision of the assigned supervisor. Performance is evaluated based on accuracy, technical knowledge demonstrated, and achievement of desired results in completing intermediate design and drafting projects.

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Creates computerized drawing files and plots. Draws line types, arcs, curves and texts on drawings to complete intermediate level plan and profile type drawings and compile automated drawings from field notes, sketches or other automated outputs. Accurately replicates dimensions, angles and other precise measurements and specifications.
- Prepares scale diagrams and floor plans of meeting rooms, banquet, and exhibit hall functions for work orders.
- Prepares design drawings and specifications of engineering design, construction, mapping projects.
- Reproduces diagrams and plans for divisional use in various types of media.
- Preparation of civil engineering, architectural, mapping, testing and other plans or schematic preparations.
- Applies knowledge of algebra, trigonometry, geometry and computer software in performing basic engineering and survey computations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Public Works-Traffic Engineering Division:
Reviews and maintains database for Maintenance of Traffic Permit applications for compliance with State and County standards.
Perform field visits to gather site information including measurements, Drainage Concerns, obstructions, pavement conditions and other safety considerations.
Develops Work Order Drawings, prepares material forms and coordinates work with engineers, fabricators and installers.
Public Works and Utilities Engineering Division:
Evaluates survey data for accuracy and sufficiency and ensures compliance to applicable regulations and standards related to survey’s, plats, plans, boundary calculations, land descriptions, etc.
Processes survey data, including the shape, contour, location, elevation and dimensions of land features and boundaries.
Creates accurate 3D surfaces. Creates point files, linework files, sketches and cut sheets for survey crews.
Produces CAD drawings to include topography, title and tree surveys, coordinate control plans and subdivision plats. Prepares sketch and descriptions and design surveys.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Graduation from high school or equivalent and four years of computerized design and drafting experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant education or training.
Based on area of assignment may be required to possess a Driver's License and possess and maintain a Florida Driver's License within three months of hire.
Facilities Management Division:
May be required to provide own transportation to perform work related duties.

Experience working with MS Office
Public Works-Traffic Engineering Division
Experience using ACAD/Civil 3D or other similar software
Experience in preparation or review of Maintenance of Traffic Permits
Experience working with Wide format printers and plotters.
Utilities- Engineering Division
Prefer software experience with ESSRI ArcGIS, building information modeling, document management and Maximo CMMS.
Familiarity with construction standards and specifications.
