General Functions |
|
This position is responsible for providing resources and assistance to neighborhood organizations, which includes assisting with forming and maintaining an organization, project execution, grant development, problem solving, strategic planning, and coordination with other government entities. The position also assists in neighborhood planning research and reports.
Work is performed using independent and professional judgment based on prior experience. Performance is evaluated through observation and results achieved. |

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
- Solicits neighborhoods to apply for grant programs by conducting workshops.
- Processes and monitors grant compliance and expenditures.
- Assists with neighborhood planning and redevelopment research.
- Guides citizens in forming neighborhood organizations.
- Attends outreach events and meetings to educate citizens about division programs.
- Assists with community clean up events and community code enforcement training.
- Performs other duties of a comparable level as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Public Administration, Planning, Social Sciences or closely related field and three years experience working with citizens and neighborhood organizations in implementing projects or community redevelopment initiatives.
A Master's degree in specified areas can substitute for two years of the required experience.

Preferences |
|
- Understanding of census data and analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Reader and Illustrator.
- Requires frequent night and weekend meetings and the ability to work with difficult personalities.
- GIS experience
