This key position This position manages and ensures adherence to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Rental Assistance Programs, policies and regulations.  This position also supervises staff, audits, and implements programs.

Work is performed with considerable independence under the supervision of Program Manager. Performance is reviewed through observations, reports and results achieved.

Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.

• Supervises Section 8 program.
• Supervises Shelter Plus Care program.
• Supervises HOME Tenant-Based Rental Assistance program.
• Supervises Family Self-Sufficiency Program.
• Supervises Housing Qualify Standards Inspections.
• Manages waiting lists for Section 8 and HOME Tenant-Bases Rental Assistance programs.
• Supervises, coaches, directs and evaluates subordinates through effective communication, delegation, and follow-up; completes employee evaluations in a timely manner.
• Oversees compliance assessments/audits of departmental records and operations.  Conducts SEMAP audit.
• Responsible for preparing Section 8 Annual Plan and administrative plans for Section 8 and Shelter Plus Care programs.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree from and accredited college or university in Business, Public Administration, or Social Service and five (5) years of   professional  administrative or supervisory experience. In lieu of the degree requirements additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. 

Experience in supervising or administering a rental (voucher) housing assistance program.  Experience with all facets of the Federal Rental Housing Voucher Program.
