General Functions |
|
Assists the Wellness Coordinator in the development and delivery of County wellness programs and initiatives. Works directly with employees in conducting wellness training sessions and fitness classes.
This position functions as a subject matter expert in the area of fitness and wellness and as personal wellness coach to County employees by educating, counseling and encouraging individuals to adopt personal healthy lifestyle habits and behaviors.
Work is assigned by and performed under the general supervision of the Human Resources Wellness Coordinator.

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
- Plans, schedules, implements ands conducts wellness and fitness classes. Examples include Lunch and Learning Seminars, Stretching Classes and Choose to Move Breaks. Hires on-call instructors as needed.
- Serves as group exercise coordinator.
- Assists Wellness Coordinator with the implementation and delivery of wellness programs and special events. Assists with selection of subject matter and vendors as needed.
- Counsels employees on health and wellness matters, and performs health screenings and comprehensive wellness assessments.
- Performs administrative work as required. Aids in the preparation of wellness articles, announcements, bulletins and promotional materials.
- Assists Benefits staff, as needed, in large benefits initiatives to include annual benefits open enrollment.
- Performs related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Graduation from an accredited College or University with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field, and two (2) year's experience as a fitness instructor or in a related wellness role; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience. Must have Group Instructor certification and be certified in CPR/First Aid. |
