SITE SUPERVISOR I

General Functions
   This position supervises employees and performs a wide variety of skilled, technical, and administrative work in Park operations. An employee in this position is responsible for insuring that safety standards are maintained, performing required inspections of devices or programs, maintaining records, preparing reports, revenue collection and directing and/or implementing plans of park development.

Work is performed under the general supervision of a Site Supervisor II/III and is evaluated on accuracy, efficiency and achievement of desired results.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Supervise, organize and direct subordinate staff and volunteers in day-to-day functions.
  • Responsible for collecting, preparing and approving revenue collections and using P-card and requests for purchases.
  • Opens, closes and secures sites. Assists with parks and building maintenance. Ensures the maintenance and safety of the park. Conducts inventory and orders supplies.
  • Enforces rules and regulations for the safety and welfare of staff and participants.
  • Maintains appropriate licenses/certifications/training to operate utility vehicles, motor vehicles, tractors, landscape equipment, machinery/features and janitorial equipment specific to their assigned site.
  • Assumes the responsibilities of the Site Supervisor II/III in his/her absence as needed.
  • Maintains irrigation systems and performs landscaping, grounds and building maintenance skilled trades.
  • Operates specialized equipment, makes minor adjustments and performs preventative maintenance on equipment, depending on area of assignment.
  • Assists park patrons and utilizes computing systems and technology to collect revenue and complete business tasks.
  • Performs administrative and other related duties or tasks as assigned or required duties as necessary.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   High school diploma or equivalent and four years of progressively responsible experience in any combination of the following areas: park operations, grounds maintenance, building/facility maintenance or janitorial/custodial. An equivalent combination of education or experience may be substituted.

Must be able to work evenings and weekends. Required to possess and maintain the appropriate valid Florida Commercial Driver's License for the type of equipment operated. Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification within six months from date-of-hire.
 
Preferences
   Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Parks and Recreation or closely related field.
