Participates in training activities associated with preparing for the Florida State certification examination for Firesafety Inspector I.
Recruits who successfully complete all requirements for obtaining Florida Firesafety Inspector I Certification and are meeting performance standards will be offered positions as Fire Inspector I with Orange County Fire Rescue Department (OCFRD).

- Attends and participates in the Florida Firesafety Inspector I Certification classes which include:
- Fire Prevention Practices
- Private Fire Protection Systems I
- Fire Service Building Construction
- Construction Documents And Plans Review
- Codes And Standards
- Participates in ride-alongs with OCFRD Fire Inspector Is and IIs.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Possess and maintain a State of Florida Driver's License or obtain a State of Florida Driver's License by date of hire.
Applicants must meet all moral and criminal background guidelines and meet any and all additional requirements mandated by Florida Statutes for certification as a Florida Firesafety Inspector I.
Applicants must complete Firesafety Inspector I coursework and successfully pass the state examination within 6 months from date of hire.
All OCFRD personnel are expected to maintain a level of physical fitness consistent with their job assignment.
Excellent interpersonal skills

Experience in general construction, fire prevention, automatic fire sprinklers, fire alarms, hood suppression systems, engineering, architecture, or related fields.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
