| Representative Duties /Assignments |
| |
- Reviews and evaluates construction plans, fire protection systems and building design to assure compliance with engineering, fire safety, and building codes, standards and ordinances. Reviews and evaluates for compliance blueprints and specifications of fire suppression, fire detection, fire alarm and smoke detectors.
- Inspects existing structures for fire protection needs and requirements and makes recommendations for improvement of fire safety systems for protection of lives and property. Inspects construction in progress to assure standards and codes are met.
- Supervision and direction are received from the Assistant Manager, Plans Review. Work performed is evaluated based on applied technical knowledge and achievement of desired results.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
Associate’s degree in an engineering technology field and four years technical experience in civil, electrical, structural, mechanical or fire engineering; or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
Must acquire and maintain a fire inspector license in accordance with State Statute 633.081 within eighteen months of hire date. |
