General Functions |
|
Performs technical and supervisory work providing local area network (LAN) administration for the County Attorney’s Office that includes upgrading and maintenance. Supervises and coordinates the activities of the word processing center. |

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
- Performs LAN administrative functions such as planning upgrades, installing software and hardware, troubleshooting and maintaining the department’s LAN and personal computer systems. Maintains network performance levels and manages the system by implementing the latest hardware and software upgrades. Monitors and records system statistics. Provides and manages a systematic data backup / retrieval process, conducts PC and software training to support staff. Coordinate wide-area network issues with the Division of Information Technologies to maintain standardization.
- Supervises the word processing center. Plans, assigns, and reviews work processed by the word processing specialist. Manages and coordinates the flow of work through the center to insure adherence to production and work schedules. Implements initiatives to improve the quality and efficiency of unit production. Reviews work processed for accuracy and conformance to policies and standards. Transcribes dictation, researches and compiles data from files and other sources.
- Exercises independence, initiative and judgment in determining and acting on courses of actions concerning the above duties. Supervision is received from the Legal Administrative Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Graduation from high school and three years experience in legal document work and law office operation to include one year of LAN administration and supervisory experience. |
