General Functions |
|
This position provides leadership and supervision for the Security, Parking and Transportation Division at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC). Ensures security, traffic, and parking functions for events are accomplished through implementation of effective Security, Life Safety, First Aid and Law Enforcement Resource programs, efficient management of Convention Center traffic, and strategic management of transportation and parking initiatives.
Work is performed with considerable independence under the supervision of Division Manager or designee. Performance is reviewed through observations, reports and results achieved. |

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Directs and oversees activities of staff in an assigned area of responsibility. Performs such supervisory duties as instructing, assigning, reviewing and planning work of others.
- Responsible human resources related functions to include but not limited to hiring, training and development, performance appraisals, employee relations and compensation.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures by identifying solutions and to meet industry best practices.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Security Section
- Manages the overall safety process to ensure employee, vendor, client and patron safety.
- Identifies, evaluates and communicates areas of vulnerability/threats at facility to Division Manager. Coordinates major security projects for the Security Division to strengthen the facility.
- Collaborates with ISS and identifies/evaluates opportunities to upgrade security technology and eliminate crime conducive areas. Serves as the liaison with ISS, OCCC's Capital Improvement Division and Facility and Event Operations to ensure timely upgrades.
- Reviews annual revenue projections and expense budgets for the Security Section with the Division Manager. Assists with budget preparation and assures that fiscal awareness is practiced.
- Manages the OCCC's First Aid and Law Enforcement Resources programs.
Parking and Transportation Section
- Provides overall management in all phases of traffic and parking.
- Ensures timely and sufficient information is obtained to meet the transportation requirements of clients and attendees. Implements and provides traffic management plans to appropriate OCCC staff and the Convention and Visit Orlando staff.
- Works with Convention Center clients and their transportation vendors to develop plans and work through potential parking and transportation issues.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and five (5) years of experience in security administration, law enforcement, transportation planning, traffic management, parking management or security project management to include two (2) years supervisory experience, orĀ in lieu of the degree requirements additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License. |

Preferences |
|
Valid Secret Security Clearance.
Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Transportation, Criminal Justice or closely related field.
Master's Degree in specified field of study.
Certification: Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Protection Officer (CPO), Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) Certification, or Certified Parking Professional (CPP) Program Certification.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel. |
