General Functions |
|
The Facility Management Electronics Coordinator is an integral part of the team, playing a key role in the operation and maintenance of electronic and fire control systems in County facilities. Coordinates preventive maintenance, performs troubleshooting, operation, and component level repair of electronic systems including but not limited to: HVAC systems, electronic systems, lighting control systems, fire alarm systems, power monitoring systems, smoke control systems, fire suppression systems, and elevator/escalator control systems.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the District Maintenance Supervisor. Performance is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and results achieved. |

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
- Coordinates the installation, testing, adjusting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacement of a full range of electronic equipment and systems.
- Assists with the management of the energy management and lighting control system including but not limited to: performing schedule changes, receiving and validating alarms, and generating work orders for technicians, optimizing operating sequences for energy savings, reviewing historical trends for control, field testing control points, and verifying on-going proper operation.
- Uses specialized tools and software to adjust equipment/systems and diagnose problems.
- Participates with management, engineers, and contractors in reviewing plans for proposed electronic systems. Recommends changes or modifications in drawings and specifications, substitutions, and methods of installation for all electronic control equipment.
- Assures electronic systems are compliant with Florida building and NFPA codes, for example smoke control and fire alarm systems.
- Responsible for keeping all electrical, electronic, and fire control systems in good repair, operating safely, and ensures all documentation is complete and properly filed.
- Analyzes and monitors utility billings for the purpose of developing baselines to quantify energy impacts and recommending methods of cost containment.
- Responds and resolves emergency requests regarding malfunctioning electronic systems.
- Monitors contracted services to ensure quality standards are met and contractor is in compliance with maintenance contract specifications.
- Assists district with planning, coordinating and implementing emergency responses to all facility crisis events.
- Assists with identifying Capital Improvement Projects and the monitoring of district expenditures.
- Advises on electrical safety and utilizes safe work practices in all assigned tasks.
- Reviews contractor submittals, including plans and specifications, and recommends solutions to other engineering and inspection staff as to prescribed procedures, practices, and methods to be followed in ensuring contract compliance.
- Reads blue prints, schematics, and logic diagrams of systems.
- Performs other related duties and projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Associates of Science degree from an accredited institution in Electronics or Computer Science or a closely related field and five years of experience in component level troubleshooting and repair: Fire protection/suppression systems, building automation systems and lighting control systems. Additional experience may be substituted for educational requirement on a year for year basis.
Experience with Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Drivers license by date of hire or promotion.
Will be required to perform mandatory Emergency Standby Duty. |

Preferences |
|
A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in Electronics or Computer Science.
Ability to develop schematic drawings of existing systems.
Specialized training in fire alarm/control/suppression and lighting control systems.
Specialized training in building automation systems.
Fire Alarm System Agent (FASA) certification.
