General Functions |
|
This position is responsible for ensuring vital Security Division programs at the Orange County Conventions Center (OCCC) remain viable and meet security industry best practices. This is a highly administrative, collaborative and accountable position. An employee in this position is responsible for assessing, planning, developing and supervising the implementation of effective and efficient Security, Life Safety, First Aid and Law Enforcement Resource programs.
Work is performed with considerable independence under the supervision of Division Manager or designee. Performance is reviewed through observations, reports and results achieved. |

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
p>Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Serve as the Security Division’s liaison with IS, OCCC’s Capital Improvement Division and Facility and Event Operations to ensure timely upgrades.
- Identify, evaluate and communicate areas of vulnerability/threats at facility to Security Manager.
- Coordinate major security projects for the Security Division to harden the facility.
- Collaborate with ISS and Identify/evaluate opportunities to upgrade security technology and eliminate crime conducive areas.
- Manages the OCCC's Life Safety Program to ensure employee, vendor, client and patron safety.
- Manages the OCCC's First Aid and Law Enforcement Resources programs.
- Participate in planning sessions with the OCCC's Capital Improvement Division.
- Develop tentative program proposals.
- Conduct specific studies to analyze and develop recommendations for new safety initiatives and modifications to existing programs.
- Manage, develop, implement, coordinate, schedule and conduct training programs for division staff.
- Develop Security PowerPoint and verbal briefings for the division.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Administration or Criminal Justice. Five years’ experience in security, law enforcement or security project management to include two of those years in a supervisory role.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License |

Preferences |
|
- A valid Secret Security Clearance.
- Professional Security Certification: Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Protection Officer (CPO).
- Experience in Security, law enforcement and hospitality industries.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
