PREVENTION/OUTREACH COORDINATOR

General Functions
   Develops and provides public information on Division programs and services with public, nonprofit and private sector companies and agencies. Solicits support for Division programs and services. Assists the Community Relations Manager in the coordination and implementation of special events and fundraising campaigns. Work is performed under the supervision of the Community Relations Manager and is reviewed through observations, conferences, and results achieved.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Develops and maintains contracts and working relationships with key personnel in identified agencies, businesses and programs.
  • Encourages participation of community and solicits donations and other contributions to benefit the clients of the Division.
  • Coordinates the Division volunteer, special event, and donor programs.
  • Responsible for the development of the Division’s volunteer and intern program including training, development, and tracking of service hours.
  • Conducts presentations for community agencies and businesses on Division programs and services.
  • Designs and oversees preparation of Division informational tools including, but not limited to brochures, presentations, videos and displays.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Master’s degree in Communications, Social Sciences or a closely related field and two years of relevant experience in public relations, fundraising, or volunteer management; or a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Social Sciences or a closely related field and four years of relevant experience.

Ability to work weekends and holidays.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
Must be able to demonstrate intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, desktop publishing, preferably Quark, Corel, Adobe Illustrator and/or Publisher, and email computer applications.
