Provides technical and clerical support to certified personnel in maintaining the control and security of all doors in detention areas, and observes the inmate's behavior while in cells and corridors; all duties are performed under the direction of certified personnel (Corrections Officers, Corporals, Sergeants, etc.). |

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
- Maintains log of relevant activities.
- Provides public with information relative to individuals incarcerated and/or facility policy and procedure.
- Inventories tools of personnel entering the facility to work.
- Receives and releases authorized property for inmates.
- Issues keys to security staff.
- Ensures data concerning inmates is accurately compiled, i.e., moves are annotated, counts are recorded, etc.
- Operates computer terminal.
- Maintains cleanliness and order of workstation.
- Assists Corrections Officers in observing inmate behavior in cells, corridors, and courtrooms via video equipment.
- Regulates and monitors alarm systems and video equipment.
- As directed, assists certified personnel in controlling access to the facility by staff and visitors.
- As directed by certified staff, will notify appropriate personnel in crisis situation.
- At the supervisor's direction, may coordinate services with outside agencies, i.e., Fire/Rescue, Facilities Management, etc.
- Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Requires High School graduation or equivalent.
Must be able to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.
Must be able to work in a secured area.
Must successfully complete the required Department training program within established guidelines.
