General Functions |
|
Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of patients health records. Performs clerical work of a responsible nature requiring attention to detail and the exercise of judgment in the use of established processes and procedures.
Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Medical/Forensic Records Administrator or designee and is reviewed through audits for accuracy and achievement of desired results.

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
- Ensures all records are maintained and stored in a secure and confidential manner.
- Reviews all documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Scans and indexes Medical Documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Prepares medical files, post entries, and files; and reviews records and charts. Performs auditing duties such as reviewing booking photos and removing orders and medications when patients are released from the correctional facility.
- Reviews release of Protected Health Information (PHI) forms for completeness and prepares them for copying.
- Prepares documentation for transportation of records to be stored or destroyed as per Record Retention Schedule as established by the State of Florida Public Records Law.
- Performs related medical and clerical duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
High school or equivalent and six months medical office experience.
Proficiency in operating a Microsoft Windows desktop computer.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

|
Experience in a Health Information Management (Medical Record) Department. |
