General Functions |
|
Supervises, plans, and directs the fiscal and inmate accounting activities of the Corrections Department.
Work is performed with independent judgment under the general supervision of the Deputy Chief and is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and results achieved.

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
- Administers fiscal issues related to Corrections Department and the Corrections Division of Health Services.
- Responsible for Department budget administration including Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) budgets, expense and revenue budget preparation, control, and coordination, expenditure and revenue analysis, reconciliation and validation, approving of purchases, financial accountability for incoming revenues, inventory control, grant submission and reporting, and audits of cash collections.
- Maintains operational responsibility for the Department's Uniform Supply, Warehouse, Fiscal Services, Work Release Fiscal, Community Corrections Cost of Supervision, and 24/7/365 Inmate Fiscal Operations sections.
- Directs the Department's inventory and supply acquisition functions and monitors expenditures and appropriations in various accounts.
- Interprets policies and procedures to ensure purchase validity and propriety of purchase requests.
- Oversees and coordinates contract renewals and Request for Bids/Proposals processes for all departmental service and goods contracts.
- Formulates and reports various monthly and bi-weekly reports for use by upper management and submission to outside agencies. Conducts financial studies and cost analyses.
- Provides overall technical and administrative direction to supervisors assigned within various areas of fiscal.
- Writes policy and procedures, handles hiring decisions, disciplinary action, policy interpretation and compliance, formulation and tracking of goals and objectives, etc. for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Performs other duties of a comparable level as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting or closely related field and eight years of experience in budget, fiscal administration, and/or inmate accounting, to include three years of supervisory experience.
A Master's degree in specified area from an accredited institution may substitute for two years of experience.

Master's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting or closely related field from an accredited institution.
Inventory control experience
Ability to work cooperatively with external agencies.
