Directs the work of assigned fiscal staff, handles verification and accountability for inmate funds and property, approves documentation, administers policy, serves customers and prepares various reports.

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
- Responsible for supervision of day-to-day operations that handle processing, control, security, and accountability of inmate funds and property (as applicable) within the Corrections fiscal areas as assigned.
- Verifies shift deposit and withdrawal/check deduction transactions and balances and prepares daily, weekly, and monthly reports within the Corrections fiscal areas as assigned.
- Serves as signing and approval authority for inmate checks being sent to other agencies and prepares the daily deposit to bank and manifest for armored car services.
- Issues money, checks, and bus tickets to Corrections staff for inmates and reconciles safe funds, check and bus ticket balances.
- Processes inmate deposit transactions, inmate deductions and money request transactions, as assigned or applicable.
- Responsible for resolving problems and customer complaints, referring only the most difficult problems to the Unit Supervisor; assists with the creation, revision and implementation of internal policies and procedures.
- Responsible for researching discrepancies in property, funds, and other fiscal transactions.
- Researches and provides resolution to inmate grievances related to fiscal transactions.
- Manages, oversees, approves, and administers: staff timesheets, performance evaluations, discipline, training, vacation requests, etc. Ensures proper shift coverage and adequate resources exist to accomplish daily tasks.
- Administers County, Departmental and Division policies and procedures to ensure assigned staff is aware of expectations.
- Ensures the area of operations meet fire, safety and cleanliness codes and reports deficiencies to the Corrections Department’s chain of command.
- Assists internal and external customers as needed and/or requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned, to include filling in for assigned staff as needed.
- May be assigned to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
High School diploma or equivalent and three years of experience as a cashier or a closely related position involving extensive public contact, cash transactions, issuing receipts, and maintaining records, to include two years of supervisory or lead experience (which may be substituted by two years experience as a Corrections Senior Fiscal Clerk)
Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver’s License.
