General Functions |
|
This position provides professional level support to the Economic Development Administrator and is responsible for assisting with the implementation of the Mayor's Economic Initiative/Development Program.
Work is performed with independent judgement under the general supervision of the Economic Development Administrator and is reviewed through meetings, conferences, reports and results achieved.

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
- Designs and administers economic development programs and initiatives.
- Acts as a liaison between the Mayor's office and the Economic Development office.
- Attends, plans and organizes meetings, researches issues, and conducts outreach and education events for Orange County.
- Responds to economic development inquiries and requests for information from communities, businesses and stakeholders
- Performs administrative duties, which include writing, researching and outreach tasks related to promoting economic development in Orange County.
- Creates presentations or other communication material.
- Serves on inter-departmental committees.
- Reviews compliance documents for agencies funded through the Orange County Economic Development office.
- Participates in community and metropolitan area groups, organizations, and external committees involved in community and development.
- Fosters relationships with community and economic development partners.
- Represents the Economic Development office at national or international conferences, seminars or industry events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two years of experience in community and economic development. Additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis. |

Preferences |
|
Experience in international economic development, foreign direct investment or foreign trade.
Fluency in Spanish is desirable.
