General Functions |
|
Manages the operation and maintenance of electronic data and/or systems assuring functional reliability and efficiency while meeting business needs in the areas of Telecommunications, Network Services, and/or Systems Software Support..
Work is performed with independence and initiative under the general supervision of the Enterprise IT Manager. Performance is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and achievement of desired results.

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
- Schedules, directs supervises and monitors staff. Administers policy and discusses project plans and status. Assists in creating and monitoring budgets.
- Develops resource allocations and requirements for short term and long term projects. Monitors and maintains ISS resources/equipment inventories and ensures proper stocking levels.
- Prepares new system designs, modifies existing systems, reviews traffic statistics, numbering plans and switch capacities. Designs and implements intra/inter-building wiring systems and practices.
- Researches, designs and enforces the standards of the design infrastructure. Designs and develops system configurations to meet customer requirements and database sizing.
- Discusses designs with customers and vendors. Participates in contract negotiations.
- Manages the maintenance of the network and data communication support systems or the data center operations and business continuity plans.
- Develops enterprise storage processes and procedures to accommodate all computer platforms.
- Analyses service and repair performance statistics and prepares related reports.
- Supervises the installation, maintenance and upgrades of computer operating systems.
- Researches and evaluates new and emerging technologies. Monitors industry trends and provides staff guidance for training needs. Designs and implements systems best practices and processes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science or other closely related field and five years progressively responsible experience in the telecommunications design and project management; installation, maintenance and repair of network services; operations and business continuity of data communications systems; and/or hardware/software systems support, installation and maintenance of computer systems. Experience to include day-to-day operational management and two years of supervisory experience.
