KITCHEN HELPER

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

General Functions
   Maintains kitchen equipment, utensils, and facilities in a clean and orderly condition. Performs a variety of duties involving cleaning and maintaining sanitary conditions of kitchen equipment, serving equipment, the kitchen and dining room storerooms, rest rooms, and other related areas.

Work is performed under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor and is inspected while in progress and upon completion.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Cleans kitchen facilities and equipment, including stoves, tables, refrigerators, and related items.
  • Washes pots and pans.
  • Operates dishwasher machine.
  • Sweeps and mops floors; washes walls, woodwork and chairs.
  • Disposes of garbage and waste materials.
  • Stores staples in appropriate storage areas.
  • Fills requisitions and items as directed.
  • Assists with all inventories as directed.
  • Cleans equipment as directed.
  • Performs related duties as required or as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Knowledge of sanitation and personal hygiene required for food handling. Knowledge of kitchen equipment, utensils and care of kitchen equipment. Ability to understand and follow written and oral directions and work under high temperature conditions.

Selected applicant must be able to demonstrate basic computer knowledge in order to retrieve and respond to electronic mail (emails).
