SENIOR ANIMAL SERVICES SPECIALIST

General Functions
   Assists the Animal Services Specialist Supervisor (ASSS) in supervision of the customer service section of Animal Services Division including: customer support, problem resolution, appropriate money handling, scheduling, disciplining, training, counseling, staff evaluation, and other duties as assigned. Acts as supervisor when ASSS is not present.

Work is performed under the general direction of the Animal Services Specialist Supervisor and is reviewed evaluated on accuracy, efficiency and achievement of desired results.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Functions as a lead and assists with the supervision of the Customer Service Section of the Animal Services Division.
  • Performs customer support and problem resolution in customer service, animal sheltering, spay/neuter services and general operations of the shelter.
  • Verifies deposits involving cash and receipts.
  • Assists with supervisory responsibilities to include scheduling, disciplining, training, counseling, conflict resolution and evaluating all assigned staff.
  • Attending meetings as needed and preparing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documentation.
  • Assists in the supervision of the front desk staff.
  • Processes pet paperwork for animals entering and leaving the shelter as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Associate’s degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration or a closely related field and two years of experience in a fast-paced, problem solving customer service environment. Additional years of experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Must have the ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form with all levels of staff and citizens on technical and non-technical issues involving the animal control industry.

Must be able to work shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
