General Functions |
|
Performs spay/neuter surgeries and oversees all medical examinations and treatments of animals impounded by Orange County Animal Services. |
|
Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
- Performs spay/neuter surgery for dogs and cats at the Orange County Spay/Neuter Clinic.
- Oversees pre and post-operative care of animals brought into Orange County Animal Services Spa/Neuter Clinic.
- Examines and authorizes treatment of animal diseases and injuries in sheltered animals and decides on appropriate disposition.
- Provides medical insight concerning drugs and procedures used for euthanizing and tranquilizing animals.
- Provides necessary education and training for Orange County Animal Services personnel in order to upgrade skill levels.
- Provides assistance to the Department Manager and Assistant Department Manager as needed to include public education, community relations, surveys, studies or other important activities.
- Lifts/carries minimum of 50 pounds, stands for long periods of time, walks through kennel section and examines, restrains and treats animals.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Requires a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited college or university.
Must possess a Florida Veterinary License to practice. |
