ASSISTANT MANAGER, HEAD START

FLSA Status: Exempt 

General Functions
   Plan, organize and assist in directing the day-to-day activities of the Head Start Division. Develop and implement program policies and procedures.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Assist with oversight and direction of all day-to-day division operations to ensure adherence to applicable regulations and statutes.
  • Responsible for division fiscal activities including: coordinating the division’s grant and general revenue budget submissions; analyzing expenditures and revenues; providing financial reporting to division manager and mandated Policy Council and Parent Center Committees.
  • Develop and review program policies and procedures for operational relevance and compliance with Federal Performance Standards, State and local statutes and regulations.
  • Assist division manager in various personnel matters including hiring, discipline, coaching, training, career development, performance appraisals and other Human Resource related activities.
  • Assist division manager in working with the mandated Head Start Policy Council and Parent Center Committees. Responsible for providing ongoing information and updates on Division operations.
  • Perform other duties of a comparable level as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development, Elementary Education, Education Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration or other closely related field and three years of responsible administrative, supervisory and senior level management experience.
