EXHIBIT COORDINATOR/GRAPHIC ARTIST

General Functions
   Responsible for the actual “hands-on” management and display of the archival collections. Work is reviewed by the Curator of Collections through meetings and results achieved.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Performs specialized procedures in preserving and exhibiting archival material entrusted to the museum.
  • Identifies, researches and prepares collection items for exhibit displays.
  • Assists the Curator of Collections in managing the archival collection of the museum.
  • Organizes and manages the archival collection in all areas of the museum, including storage, exhibition, and research
  • Assists with the shipping and receiving of loans and traveling exhibits for the museum.
  • Obtains, develops, organizes and catalogs new collections of individual artifacts to enhance and improve existing inventories.
  • Organizes and coordinates on-going inventory of collections.
  • Assists with developing and maintaining an automated record-keeping system for collection.
  • Manages archive collection and responds to all requests for archives from public and private interests.
  • Assists in the construction of in-house exhibits and the display of temporary traveling exhibits that come to the museum.
  • Coordinates, trains and supervises volunteers that work in the collection area of the museum.
  • Assists with special events held by the society for the museum.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in History, Anthropology, Humanities or a related field and one year of experience working in an archive, a library, a museum or a related occupation.

Must be able to work weekends and evenings as required.
