| General Functions |
| |
Responsible for the operation of the Orange County Historical Museum. Directly manages museum supervisors, all internal and fiscal operations and is responsible for an overall positive visitor experience. This position reports to the Manager, Historical Museum and provides him/her with operational and/or technical support as required. |

| Representative Duties /Assignments |
| |
- Oversees and supervises all museum work unit supervisors and all internal operations including maintenance, facilities projects, cleaning, security, purchasing, staffing and local personnel issues.
- Develops, revises and implements Division policies and procedures, liaising with other County Departments as required.
- Uses professional knowledge and expertise to make recommendations for museum specific areas such as exhibits, collections, development and marketing.
- Develops and monitors budget for all museum areas.
- Represents the museum and Orange County in support of the Division Manager as required.
- Analyzes and presents information related to the museum as requested by Orange County and community partners.
- Ensures museum guests and visitors receive the highest positive level of visitor experience.
- Performs other related duties as required.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic college or university in Museum Studies, Anthropology, History, Business Administration or other closely related field and four years of progressive museum administration experience. |

Master’s degree from an accredited academic college or university in Museum Studies, Anthropology, History, Business Administration or other closely related field. |
