This position is responsible for the daily management and care of museum collections including storage, preservation, exhibition and research. The position is also responsible for the acquisition, accession and deaccession of all items and assists other members of the History Center’s staff in developing exhibits and other research related tasks.
Work is performed under the direction of the Curator of Collections. Performance is reviewed through observations, reports and achievement of desired results.

| Representative Duties /Assignments |
| |
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of the collection including completing and maintaining paperwork for donated items and loans, ordering supplies and implementing basic conservation techniques.
- Monitors the condition and security of the museum’s permanent and traveling exhibits.
- Coordinates the scheduling, delivery and installation of museum traveling exhibits and completes condition reports.
- Catalogs and coordinates collection inventory including all artifact, photographic, archival and library collections. Implements basic conservation techniques.
- Maintains the museum collection management software database.
- Assists in the construction and installation of in-house exhibits and in the display of temporary exhibits.
- Assists in obtaining new donations that enhance existing inventories.
- Assists in the oversight of the off-site collections storage facility,
- Participates in special events and museum presentations.
- Coordinates, trains and supervises volunteers in the Collections unit.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in History, Public History, Museum Studies, Anthropology or closely related field and two years experience working in a museum related field including artifact care and handling. |
