| General Functions |

This position is responsible for supervision of the County’s Professional Standards Office, which has responsibility for conducting confidential and impartial investigations of allegations of violations of Federal, State and Orange County Policies, Procedures and Regulations. |

| Representative Duties /Assignments |
| |
- Supervises, directs and ensures the impartial investigation of alleged misconduct by County employees.
- Coordinates with law enforcement on the County’s behalf in situations where County employees may have violated local, state or federal laws.
- Serves as the County’s coordination point for the development of respondent information related to alleged discrimination investigations being conducted by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Florida Commission of Human Relations (FCHR).
- Gathers, researches and reports statistical data and information for County Administration related to Equal Opportunity (EO) and other related matters to increase the efficiency and operation of County programs.
- Provides advice and guidance to managers and employees related to equal opportunity laws, rules and procedures.
- Supervises the County’s employee Background Screening Program.
- Responsible for tracking and reporting to management employee arrests.
- Provides input and advice on matters related to quality hiring, training, retention and promotion of employees to ensure the integrity and standards of Orange County Government.
- Supervises the investigation of alleged fraud/misuse related to the County’s Section 8 Rental Assistance Program.
- Develops and implements training and assistance programs for managers and employees related to ensuring compliance with rules, regulations and laws as they pertain to Orange County.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Criminal Justice, Political Science, Business, Public Administration or a closely related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in investigations and compliance with three (3) years of supervisory experience. A Master’s degree from an accredited institution may be substituted for two years of investigation experience. |
