WELLNESS PROGRAM MANAGER

FLSA Status: Exempt 

General Functions
   Develops and administers countywide employee wellness programs and supervises Wellness staff.

Work requires independent judgment and is performed under the general supervision of a Human Resources Administrator.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Develops, implements and provides oversight for countywide health management and wellness programs.
  • Researches needs and works with the Wellness Nurse, County Wellness Advisory Committee, HR Administrator, Benefits team and outside resources to ensure the development and delivery of quality wellness programs.
  • Leads and coordinates Orange County’s Employee Wellness For Life initiatives.
  • Works closely with the Wellness Advisory Committee on employee wellness strategy and program development. Responsible for establishing and providing ongoing communication, direction and support to Wellness Champions in all departments.
  • Develops and conducts in-department group wellness education sessions.
  • Leads and coordinates countywide and department specific wellness fairs, fitness assessments and targeted wellness interventions.
  • Provides day-to-day leadership and supervision to HR Wellness Specialists.
  • Maintains and submits accurate wellness financial, inventory and program participation records. Recommends and prepares the annual wellness work program, and participates in the annual work planning and budget process.
  • Prepares manuals, announcements, bulletins and promotional materials. Publishes county activities, events, and services through appropriate media.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in health education, public health, exercise physiology or a closely related field and five years of professional (FLSA exempt level) experience in the health and wellness profession.
 
Preferences
   Professional experience in an employer-based wellness program.
