MARKETING/PUBLIC RELATIONS COORDINATOR

General Functions
   This position is responsible for the creation and coordination of public education, advertising and marketing for the department/division. Work requires a great deal of independent judgment under the general supervision of a designated supervisor.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Assists in the development of marketing and communications plans to support both short term and long-range organizational objectives.
  • Assists in the development of marketing and communication materials; these may include, but are not limited to, newsletters, web site, email, social media and other collateral material.
  • Assists with and helps to obtain market and customer research.
  • Supports organizational initiatives and events, as needed.
  • Writes and edits releases, articles, promotional material and similar publications for dissemination concerning programs, services and achievements of County agencies/departments.
  • Performs other duties as required.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or field related to assignment and two (2) years experience with exposure to marketing and public relations, communications or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
