LAND MANAGEMENT SUPERVISOR

General Functions
   Oversees, administers, and implements interior and exterior land management contracts for the County. Performs various other related functions such as designing and implementing small-scale landscape improvement projects. Work is performed under limited supervision
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Develops, prepares and implements specifications for all land management contracts and issues.
  • Prepares, designs and implements small-scale landscape improvement projects to upgrade County facilities including various public projects.
  • Oversees, administers and implements interior and exterior land management contracts for the County.
  • Evaluates and reviews landscape plans of new facilities from various County departments..
  • Develops and implements the budget for the section; ensures that expenditures are kept within budgetary constraints.
  • Responds to miscellaneous requests from other County departments or the general public.
  • Directs and oversees the activities of the reporting staff. Performs such supervisory duties as instructing; planning, assigning, and reviewing work of others; maintaining standards; coordinating activities; allocating personnel; actions on employee problems; and selecting new employees.
  • Receives, reviews, processes, files and /or submits a variety of documents and reports such as blueprints, invoices, irrigation flows, bid proposals, technical specification, inspection forms, etc.
  • Utilizes various tools and types of equipment in the performance of the job such as computer, calculator, soil sample tool, measuring wheel, shovel, trowel, camera, etc.
  • Oversees computerized irrigation system throughout the County.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Plant Pest Management, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Park Administration or a related field and two years of experience in landscape or property management; or equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
