SPECIAL PROJECTS COORDINATOR 40 (LT)

General Functions
   Performs professional and technical duties providing administrative support in policy and procedure development, internal quality assurance, analytical work, and budget preparation. Assignments are broad in nature with considerable opportunity to exercise independent judgment, apply management knowledge and analytical skills, and implement effective solutions.

Work will be evaluated based on compliance to policies and procedures, and attainment of desired goals and objectives through personal conferences and review of reports.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Assists with Division budget preparation.
  • Assists with Division planning related efforts.
  • Assists in coordination of the purchase and delivery of capital equipment and inventory control.
  • Monitors Division supply and maintenance needs.
  • Acts as liaison with community groups, schools and agencies.
  • Assists with analyzing departmental problems and recommends solutions.
  • Coordinates minority/female recruitment program.
  • Maintains Division statistical reports.
  • Assists in resolving problems by having a clear understanding of Orange County Fire/Rescue Department policies and procedures, and Orange County policies and procedures.
  • Responds to emergency fire and medical service requests as required.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Graduation from high school or equivalent and six years experience with Orange County Fire Rescue as a Firefighter, to include two years as an Engineer, or eight years as a Firefighter with Orange County Fire Rescue. Must currently hold the position of Engineer or if a Firefighter have an approved Driver/Operator Course Certification.

Must possess fifteen college credits in Fire Science, Emergency Medical Services or related fields from an accredited college or university.

Must possess Florida State Firefighter and E.M.T. certification.

Must possess Florida Fire Officers I Certification or meet all prerequisites for the certification.

  • Must possess and maintain Florida class "E" driver's license.


  • If assigned to Fire Rescue EMS Division, must possess Florida and Orange County Paramedic Certification, ACLS Instructor Certification, and CPR Instructor Certification.
