LEGAL DOCUMENTS SPECIALIST

General Functions
   Performs word processing production of legal and administrative documents and provides technical assistance with the County Attorney’s Office local area network (LAN) administration.

Work is performed under the general supervision of the Legal Office Technical Coordinator and is reviewed on a regular basis through observations, conferences and results achieved.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Provides word processing assistance for the County Attorney’s Office in the production of legal and administrative documents. Prepares correspondence, memoranda, flow charts, legal documents, etc.
  • Transcribes dictation. Compiles data from files and other sources.
  • Maintains internal system document production log and daily document log.
  • Assists in the setup and maintenance of the County Attorney’s Office network.
  • Assists in troubleshooting software and hardware problems, retrieval of applications and documentation, and ensuring the proper and complete functioning of the system.
  • Assists staff with software application inquires and problems.
  • Serves as an alternate in the purchasing of supplies and equipment.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Legal Office Technical Coordinator or Legal Administrative Supervisor.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Graduation from high school and three years of word processing experience.

Ability to type at a rate of 40 correct words per minute.
 
Preferences
   Experience in legal document work or law office operations.
