LEGAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

FLSA Status: Exempt 

General Functions
   Responsible administrative and legal secretarial work involving coordination and planning administrative and office management activities.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
   Duties may vary based on area of assignment.

  • Compiles and edits contracts, lease and partnership agreements.
  • Maintains the County Attorney’s or senior staff schedule and provides backup materials.
  • Prepares correspondence, maintain files, coordinate reports, briefs, etc.
  • Develops and implements office procedures. Ensures top quality of all correspondence, documents, communications and other matters.
  • Prepares dictation in the form of correspondence, agreements, documents and contracts for distribution.
  • Analyzes and compiles data, secures relevant information, researches Florida Statutes, County Code and other references for the development of legal documents.
  • Maintains filing system, lists, contacts, updates code books, administrative regulations, etc.
  • Responds to and resolves inquiries from the public, elected officials, county staff, outside attorneys and organizations.
  • Assists in the coordination of BCC and committee meetings and activities; facilitates the implementation of committee and Board recommendations.
  • Assists with special projects.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Associate’s degree and four years experience in legal office administration or legal secretarial work, to include extensive public contact experience and working with senior level management; or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training or experience.
