| General Functions |

Responsible for ensuring that appropriate nursing care and other medical services are provided to inmates at the Orange County Jail. Ensures that units are properly staffed, and the appropriate nursing care and other medical services are provided to inmates. Monitors compliance of accreditation standards with Community Standards of Care and the Nurse Practice Act, and oversees the development of the Nursing Supervisor to ensure smooth operation of clinical units.

| Representative Duties /Assignments |

- Directs and oversees the activities of Nursing Unit Supervisors and other health care staff in their assigned areas to ensure compliance and appropriate levels of care are being delivered.
- Oversees administration and coordination of department activities including administrative processing, nurse staffing, and the oversight of disciplinary actions.
- Compiles statistical data for accreditation, and reports findings to Quality Assurance Specialist and Assistant Manager.
- Directs recruitment and selection of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Medical Assistants.
- Monitors the compliance of inmate care and treatment procedures.
- Develops policies and procedures for nursing unit operations.
- Other related duties as assigned.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or a related field, from an accredited college or university, and five years of progressively responsible experience in the health and social services field, with at least two years of experience in a supervisory role.
Must possess a current Florida license as a registered nurse and current CPR certification. Must be able to work shifts, including night and weekends.
