| General Functions |

Performs skilled mechanical and electrical work in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of a variety of overhead doors, grilled, sliding gates, jail doors, etc.
This is skilled work at the experienced worker level involving diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a wide variety of manual and electromechanical overhead doors, sliding gates, and grilles that are in use throughout County facilities. A large portion of these devices are installed in Fire Stations and Jail Facilities, which require timely response in getting the device back in service. Frequent call-outs are required during times other than normal working hours.
Work assignments are received by means of written job orders or oral instructions. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Facilities Management Maintenance Coordinator and/or District Maintenance Supervisor who reviews work in process or upon completion for compliance with specifications and standards.

| Representative Duties /Assignments |

- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical problems such as relays, switches, transformers, motor controllers, rollers, guides, gear boxes, chain drives, and door components and frames.
- Perform preventative maintenance such as lubrication, alignment, testing and replacement of worn parts.
- Use standard test instruments to trace electrical circuits.
- Use welding equipment to repair or replace faulty components, damaged doorframes, etc.
- Evaluate contract specifications for new construction.
- Performs other related work as assigned.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
Graduation from high school or equivalent and five years experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and other mechanized door devices, at least one year of which must have been in a supervisory position.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License by date of hire.
